Terms of service

Last updated: November 2, 2026.

These terms cover the Axial Commons website (axialcommons.org), our YouTube channel, and the "Axial Commons Night Uploader", a program we run ourselves to publish our own videos. The uploader is not offered to the public, and nobody else signs in to it.

Using the library and the readings

The library and our videos are free to read, watch and share. The works we read are in the public domain, and each video names its source. Our own commentary and recordings are shared in the same spirit: you may quote and share them with credit to Axial Commons. If you are unsure about a particular use, ask us.

Voices

Our readings are made with synthetic voices, and videos say so. We do not present any recording as a real person's voice unless that person has agreed.

No warranty

We work to quote every text exactly and to cite every source, but the site and videos are provided as they are, without any warranty. Texts and translations of ancient works can differ between editions, and we may correct or change our pages and videos at any time.

The uploader

The uploader uses Google's YouTube API only for our own channel. Its use of Google data is described in our privacy policy, and it follows the YouTube Terms of Service.
